Hither to about 152,000 seismograms have been scanned, as an activity of the SISMOS and EuroSeismos projects for over 40 TB. The mean size of each high resolution raster image is around 300 MB. The management of this large amount of data that guarantees an easy and fast access to the digital data is the main objective of the new SISMOS information system.
IMPORTANT: We are moving from the old SISMOS database to the new one. Operations are complicated and delicate. The more than 200,000 raster of seismograms have been converted in three different formats and resolutions (200dpi jpg, 1016 dpi and 600 dpi lossless zip), for a total of more than 600,000 images. For different reasons the download of these scanned images is temporary suspended. We apologize for the problem but the new database will be more efficient than the former one. Requests of seismograms, and associated instrument's information and constants can be submitted to the responsible of SISMOS Graziano Ferrari. Requests will be delivered as soon as possible.
